Nyambura Mundia is a gender expert specializing in women empowerment and work rights. She is the founding director of Usawa Inc. and the lead convener of the Women Leaders’ Hangouts.

 

She has an exemplary record in youth and women advocacy around pertinent issues some of which include, countering violent extremism, gender/sex-based violence, climate resilience, and most recent, employment.

Nyambura is committed to initiatives that are aimed towards ending retrogressive cultures and social norms that promote violence against women and girls and also hinder women from taking up leadership positions.

Her expertise is in training, feminist content development, and gender analysis.

She is a State Department IREX –community solutions fellow and she is also a member of the International Women Mediators with the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice – San Diego University.

Nyambura is currently writing her research towards completing her Masters in Gender and Development at the University of Nairobi.
