With Wanjiru Nguhi

This series explores how young women experience elections in Kenya. It is set on the backdrop of the 2022 Kenyan General Elections, held on 9th August 2022. The series features voter mobilizers, peace and security actors; and young women leaders working towards the mitigation of election-based sexual gender based violence. 

In this episode we speak with Wanjiru Nguhi about how online platforms have helped women interact with democratic process. We discuss the dangers of dis/misinformation, tools used to dissuade women voters; and take a deep dive into how online gender-based violence against women has affected how women interact with political information.

Wanjiru is a seasoned campaigner and podcaster. She is the Founder of Mwafrika Mwenzangu and Project Manager at Fumbua Kenya.
