Leading from the Margins- with Amisa Rashid 

This series explores how young women experience elections in Kenya. It is set on the backdrop of the 2022 Kenyan General Elections, held on 9th August 2022. The series features voter mobilizers, peace and security actors; and young women leaders working towards the mitigation of election-based sexual gender based violence. 

In episode 6, we speak with Amisa, a young, Nubian party leader. She is also a mental health advocate. Amisa not only comes from a marginalized community, but also faces discrimination as a Muslim and as a woman.She talks to us about navigating these barriers. 

We discuss mental health for young people, especially in polarized areas, prone to violence.
